Air Conditioning Repair

July 3 - 6, 2023, the planet hit the 4 hottest days on record. High temperatures combined with the humidity here in south Georgia mean one thing is clear: it’s a bad time for your air conditioner to give out. Not only, is it uncomfortable for you and your family; it’s unsafe, especially for Glynn county’s many older residents.

At Comfort Zone, we bring over 28 years in the HVAC industry to every job. We service and repair, maintain all makes and models of residential air conditioning systems and heat pumps you may have or want. We install quality HVAC equipment from various manufacturers including Arco Aire, Goodman, Daikin, Comfortmaker, Aprilaire and more. Over nearly 3 decades in the field, we’ve seen just about every issue that may arise. Our experience enables us to diagnose and repair whatever issue your AC unit may conjure up, if that’s the most right, most cost effective choice for you.

Whether we’re out for routine maintenance or you’ve called us with a concern, we do a full inspection and clean out the debris that tends to collect in outside units that can lead to rust, corrosion, decreased efficiency or outages.

We pride ourselves on our customer service. Educating our customers on their issue and what their best options are is a big part of what has kept our company in business for so long. Our pricing is fair and affordable because we understand that, for many people, a repair or replacement can be a financial hardship. No air conditioner ever breaks at good time. When it comes to time and money, we work fast and efficiently to get you back up and running at a fair price. Most problems can be repaired. An air conditioner, like any other machine, will have mechanical parts fail with constant use over time.

Common Complaints

  • Your AC unit is on, but warm air blows from the vents

  • Your power bills keep going up as does the temperature in your house

  • You hear new & strange noises like buzzing, knocking, whining and grinding, but the unit doesn’t actually engage

  • The temperature on the thermostat doesn’t match the temperature you feel in the house

  • Some rooms are cooler than others

  • Maybe, your AC just won’t turn on at all

Frequent Flyers

  • Your air conditioning unit puts out of a lot of water, or condensate, which has to drain out through pipes. Over time, those pipes can get clogged with dirt, debris or algae growth. If that drainage is blocked, your air conditioner’s condensate pan will overflow and cause expensive damage to the areas underneath in your house. Always preventative maintenance minded, our techs use algicide tablets to deter algae growth in the pan and pipes, helping to keep those pipes free and flowing. If we do find a clogged drainage pipe issue, we come equipped to clear the way and avoid the costly an interior leak.

  • Air conditioners use a chemical refrigerant, commonly called freon, to cool the air the fan pushes out of your vents. If your air conditioning unit is low on refrigerant, we will test for leaks and top it up at a fair price per pound. We’ll help you understand the root cause and weigh your options of repair or if the age and condition of your system merits replacement.

  • If your AC isn’t turning on at all, the problem could be the thermostat or an electrical issue such as: damaged contacts, a blown fuse or capacitor, bad wiring or a tripped breaker. The safest way to handle high voltage electrical problems is to let our trained technicians take care of it for you.

  • To make a fairly technical story short: your evaporator coil and condenser work together to absorb heat and produce the cool air that brings that summer sigh of relief when you walk into a properly cooled house. These parts are vulnerable to dust, dirt and debris and can become corroded over time.

  • Compressor failure, outside of the warranty period, usually warrants replacement of the entire unit. With proper installation and regular maintenance, we’ve seen HVAC units last 20 years.
